Pai Gow Poker is a modern game with old origins. Built on the ancient Chinese domino game and the current American variation of poker, Pai Gow poker joins the eastern with the west in a great game for starting players.

Pai Gow is a poker game that pits the player versus the casino, unlike almost all other poker games that gamblers compete against other players. By wagering against the dealer, beginner players don’t need to fret about other, more skillful players taking their money.

One more Pai Gow advantage is the generally leisurely game play, novices should be able to take their time and plan while not having to make quick selections.

It is also much simpler to gamble on for a very long time with just a small amount of money since, to lose, both of your hands must be lower than both of the houses hands.

Pai Gow uses 53 cards; the familiar 52-card standard deck and one joker. The player is assigned seven cards faces showing and the dealer is given 7 cards face down.

A 5 card hand and one two card hand have to be put together from the seven cards dealt, the five card hand has to be higher than the two card hand. To win, a player is required to have both of his hand values to be larger than the casino’s.
