Pai Gow uses 53 cards; the customary 52-card standard deck and one joker. The player is dealt seven cards faces showing and the croupier is dealt seven cards faces hidden.
A 5 card hand and one two card hand need to be made from the seven cards dealt, the 5 card hand has to be higher than the two card hand. To succeed, a player is required to have both of his hand totals to be larger than the dealer’s.
