Caribbean Poker Rules and Pointers

Online poker has become world celebrated recently, with televised competitions and celebrity poker game shows. The games universal appeal, though, stretches back in fact a bit farther than its television ratings. Over the years many variants on the first poker game have been created, including some games that are not quite poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these particular games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is most closely affiliated with chemin de fer than long-standing poker, in that the players bet against the casino instead of each other. The winning hands, are the established poker hands. There is no conniving or other kinds of deception. In Caribbean stud poker, you are required to pay up before the dealer broadcasting "No further bets." At that moment, both you and the bank and of course all of the other players are given 5 cards. Once you have seen your hand and the dealer’s 1st card, you have to either make a call wager or accede. The call wager’s amount is equal to your original bet, meaning that the stakes will have doubled. Abandoning means that your bet goes instantaneously to the casino. After the bet is the conclusion. If the dealer doesn’t have ace/king or better, your wager is given back, including a sum on par with the ante. If the dealer has a hand with ace/king or greater, you win if your hand beats the dealer’s hand. The casino pays cash equal to your wager and fixed odds on your call wager. These odds are:

  • Even for a pair or high card
  • 2-1 for 2 pairs
  • 3-1 for 3 of a kind
  • 4-1 for a straight
  • 5-1 for a flush
  • seven to one for a full house
  • twenty to one for a four of a kind
  • fifty to one for a straight flush
  • 100-1 for a royal flush
